Clean environment it affects the moral level of a person. The room has a scent that is believed to make people behave ethically.
The results of research conducted by researchers at Brigham Young University, Utah, claimed that the room that has a scent can make a person believed to be fairer, generous and have behave ethically.
These results prove that a clean environment affects the moral level of a person. Those who live in clean homes far more moral than those who lived in the house dirty, smelly and messy.
The study, entitled The Smell of Virtue and has been published in Psychological Science, the participants divided into two groups.
One group was placed in a dirty room and the smell of fragrances, which are not given. While other groups are in a clean room with a fragrant is aroma of refreshing.
In the first test the participants involved in a game of trust, where they are given some money.
They were told that the money was a gift from a stranger in a completely different room if participants believe would share it with the fair. Furthermore, they were asked to decide how much money will be saved and shared, and that will be returned to the giver.
From the first test results are known, only a few participants in the room are clean and fragrant use of trust money giver. They average refund is two times more than the amount refunded to participants who were in the room was dirty and smelly.
While the next test, the researchers tested the participants' interest to attend a social project of humanity. They then assess how much participants' willingness to donate money in the project.
Participants who were in the room clean and fragrant, 22 percent are interested in these activities and want to donate money. This compared with participants who were in another room that only 6 percent are interested in these activities.
Of the two tests can be concluded that the cleanliness was very affecting one's behavior and morals. People who live in a clean environment proved to be more compassionate and more virtuous character.
